My husband is an engineer, but he also knows how to talk to people. He’s the kind of guy that companies put in front of customers to help explain why one method of doing something works better than another.
For doctors, the comparable equivalent is having a nice bedside manner. People need someone who can explain things and reassure them that whatever treatment you’re about to get is the right one.
Fauci doesn’t do that.

A lot like my husband, a Physicist, who’s so good at his job a top guy at DOD once called him a “national treasure”. BUT he also interacts like a regular guy. Our minister didn’t know he was a doctor for a couple years; neither did my mom. He doesn’t flaunt/use the title. He’s just regular.
Smug little Fauci glories in the status and title, and lords it over everyone he meets.
