Anybody know why Washington has so many cases?? I can’t believe they didn’t shut down til just now.
We are in LA - some folks are staying IN their homes. Lots of walkers tho, and of course shoppers. And TP hoarders.
Because of the one nursing home in the beginning.
Huge initial exposure to the back and forth travel from China. Everything from care workers, to the Chinese new year travel, to silicon forest IT exposure in the Seattle area.
In Bellevue (city just east of Seattle) it is 11% Chinese, and mostly wealthy. I’m sure they travel between China and here often.
Likely because of all the tech companies there, lots of travel to China to meet with suppliers, etc.
35 of the deaths were in one nursing home or connected to staff that worked in the one bad one and then others.
In WA state the majority of deaths have been from that initial senior care center that really started it all in this state. These are elderly people with health problems, and that one center had a slew of deaths at the beginning of this. We have one of those centers just up the street from our house, in a diffrent city and I have heard nothing about any deaths at that particular senior care center. I don't know why the one in Seattle had so many deaths.
Anyway, that is where the majority of the deaths have happened in Washington State.
