Bible in a Year:
I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Jackson dreamed of becoming a US Navy Seal from early childhoodan ambition that led to years of physical discipline and self-sacrifice. He eventually faced grueling tests of strength and endurance including whats referred to by trainees as hell week.
Jackson was physically unable to complete the exhaustive training, and reluctantly rang a bell to inform the commander and other trainees of his choice to leave the program. For most, this would feel like failure. But in spite of the extreme disappointment, Jackson was later able to see his military failure as preparation for his lifes work.
The apostle Peter experienced his own form of failure. He boldly proclaimed that he would remain loyal to Jesus even to prison or death (Luke 22:33). Yet later he wept bitterly after he denied that he knew Jesus (vv. 6062). But God had plans beyond his failure. Prior to Peters denial, Jesus informed him, I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it (Matthew 16:18; see also Luke 22:3132).
Are you struggling with a failure causing you to feel unworthy or unqualified to move on? Dont let the ringing bell of failure cause you to miss Gods greater purposes for you.
What did you view as a failure in your life that God used to help you grow in Him? Why is it vital for us to find our identity in how God views us?
God, help me to use every circumstance, even my failures, for Your glory and honor!

"I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces guarding our country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense." |
I just watched a video of one of my students practicing his piano lesson.
It was ten minutes long and I was impressed with his progress. I can’t go to his house to teach him because of the quarantine, so we are doing his lessons via email. I invited my other students to do the same, but so far nobody else had taken this step.
He’s going to be awesome by the time we get back together!
I personally know every square inch of those 165,000 acres. I remember doing night movements and sometimes you could see the Hearst mansion. Great installation for hunting and fishing when you were not walking around with an 80lb rucksack on your back.
President Trump said the good guys rescued a young lady form some very bad people last night. I think there are a lot of things going on that we don’t and may never hear about.
I spent my early years there as a Second Lieutenant Commander of a small unit...
Was a great place. Lots of memories.
Borders went almost to Hearst Castle.
There is a small Mission from the Spanish days enclosed within Hunter Liggett.
Had a great First Sargent. Every Lieutenant needs one.
Not many Second Lieutenant Commanders, but it was what it was. Small meteorology research unit.
Really well here, thank you ConorMacNessa!
Appreciate your hard work and dedication!
Howdy PROCON!
