All K-12 schools in Virginia will remain closed through "at least" the academic year and all restaurants must end dine-in service, the governor announced Monday as the state dramatically ramps up its efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus.

I trust Virginia will not go to the Federal Government for a bail out when all this is over. The damage to small businesses and low wage earners is enormous.

Our public schools are singularly incapable of handling this situation.

Agreed. There could be a silver lining in all this, the breakup of the public education monopoly.

Or, along with healthcare --- everyone will be say "let the Government run EVERYthing."

Time will tell.

There could be a silver lining in all this, the breakup of the public education monopoly.

Public school systems are not able to offer any "education" to speak of, in this crisis, because "equity." And now the free daycare is closed, too.

If the daycare is closed long enough, a significant number of people may realize they can do without it after all.
