I’ve watched these press conferences and then read reports from the press that came from a different planet. I call BS on the story by DM.
For instance. What if the question asked of Fauci was: “Why don’t you jump in front of the president and shove him down?” And he said, “Stupid question. I could never and would never do something like that.” A dishonest reporter (y’know, if there was such a thing) could find an opening to give the the quote: “I can’t jump in front of him and shove him down.”
As to the smirk: What if he was laughing at the joke about the Deep State Department in exactly the same way most of the people here would do?
Look, even if the guy is a Hillary supporter from the past, (two of my daughters from Calif. and Wash. were) does that define him as an object of hatred for all his life? I’ve heard him be supportive of the president and I’ve heard him disagree respectfully (do we want Obama-bot yes-men on that task force?) I’ve also heard him chide reporters for finding disagreement where there was none.
Some of the logic in this thread sounds a lot like you can find on Politico, Vox, and the rest, with just the names changed.
If I see and hear Fauci say all those things on video to back up the article, I will believe it. Otherwise, I will believe the Daily Mail is trying either to discredit Trump with lies or trying to drive a wedge between members of the task force. I will not become party to either attempt.
Sidebar: Even the president sometimes falls into the traps set by these sewer rats. Example: Do you take responsibility for ___________________ (fill in the name of any disaster, real or imagined)? President Trump should never answer this wife-beater question. It’s an absolute lose-lose.
I would not assume his email to Hillary expressed his genuine feelings. It may be just generic butt kissing by a Washington bureaucrat who knows that having Hillary Clinton on your side avoids ending up pushed aside, fired, or in the worst case dead.
