Trump’s over night tweets and retweets indicate that he’s all in for the 15 days. He’s not one to pick an idea or solution and be wedded to it just “because”.

I believe Trump has been consistent about a 15 day “checkpoint” out of an abundance of caution, and that he will push for a return to normalcy at the end of the month with the exception of N.Y. and the surrounding states.

IMHO this will cause even more “gnashing and grinding of teeth” by the elites since this is clearly a bi-coastal/big city pandemic which has left “fly over country” virtually unscathed.
