Pennsylvania State Rep. Thomas Murt (R) is pushing a permit requirement for ammunition purchases throughout the state.
His legislation HB 2344 has been referred to the PAs House Judiciary Committee and is filed with the memo, Addressing Gun Violence and Enhancing Public Health and Safety.
Page 21 of the 25-page bill sets forth details of Murts proposed Ammunition Purchase Authorization Permits, saying, A person holding an ammunition purchase authorization permit issued under this section may purchase or otherwise seek the transfer of ownership of ammunition from a retailer that sells ammunition.
The proposed permits would be valid for four years and carry a fee not to exceed $50.
In addition to mandating state residents acquire a permit to buy bullets, Murts legislation sets for a surcharge for gun and ammo sales: There is hereby imposed on each sale of a firearm or ammunition subject to tax under Article II of the act of March 4, 1971 (P.L.6, No.2), known as the Tax Reform Code of 1971, an additional surcharge of $3. This shall be referred to as the Firearm and Ammunition Sale Surcharge.

NOT a corona-virus response. Normal(?) everyday legislation. Like so many others, a disgrace to the citizens of Pennsylvania.

The small tyrants running Pennsylvania have discovered what so many other small tyrants throughout the country have: With enough votes you can amend the U.S. Constitution without involving other states and without going through that pesky “ammendment process”.

Any gun violence primarily takes place in a couple of square miles of ghetto neighborhoods. So the solution is to penalize the whole state?

Given the counties he represents, RINOs would certainly take the left-wing myopic view.

Higher taxes, more paperwork, anti-gun, anti-fracking positions?
So he is a democrat in RINO’s clothing.

To: Robert A Cook PE
All RINOs are Democrats in Republican garb. There is no separate species “RINO”, really.
