For what it is worth, the UK death rate for confirmed cases is 4.3%. The US death rate for confirmed cases is 1.2%. In Canada, the death rate is about the same as ours.

In the UK the distinction ceased to exist today, as the private health sector has made over nearly all its 8000 hospital beds, with staff, to the NHS for the duration of the pandemic:
