WASHINGTON (SBG) - As the coronavirus spread to all fifty states over the last two months, the Trump administration faced mounting criticism for the lack of reliable, widely accessible test kits. Now, a former senior federal health official nominated to his post by President Trump, alleges that the delays in testing occurred because leaders at the Centers for Disease Control lied to the president, and to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, about the centers ability to produce the kits.
CDC has acknowledged that its initial stab at mass production of the test kits encountered a problem, and that federal deployment of safe testing equipment lagged as a result.

CDC, like any huge pregnant bureaucracy, tried to keep all testing in-house and exclusive.
I don’t trust them at all.
Rod Rodensteins SISTER maybe?????
Can you clear something up for me?
I listened to yesterdays Fauci exchange on replay very carefully, several times to be sure I had it right.
Fauci was asked if there was evidence that the drug was effective prophylacticly (as a preventative for Chinese Virus, presumably to be used before catching it).
Is there evidence that it works as a preventive?
Rosenstein’s SISTER started the PANIC iirc.
No surprise if the so-called glitch was HRC
Nasty business, insurance is.
Good ear.
Fouci is not CDC, he’s institute of alergic and infections diseases. Redfield is CDC.
To answer your question, no...the anti-malarial drug is not a preventative, but a treatment. I don’t understand what the freaking confusion is over these class of drugs. Trump’s hopefulness and Fauci’s saying that there needs to be certain trials are not exclusive of each other. The trials will be done as compassionate treatments using the drug are applied to those infected.
I lost all confidence in the CDC in the mid/late eighties when it obvious that CDC was hyping a scare that AIDS was migrating to the hetrosexual population as a means to secure more federal funding.
Shocker.
It is easy to make the mistake of relying on experts who want to take control of a complex problem in good times when there is no pressing need. It is not immediately obvious that they are incompetent and incapable of doing the job as long as there is no big important job to be done. They become expert of falsifying reports, gundecking readiness assessments, and faking as if they know what they are doing.
Then when the real-world intrudes, all that falsification, all that bullshit, winds up doing them no good at all, and they fail miserably. Of course they fail miserably. It was inevitable. We should not act surprised.
Winnie-the-Flu has revealed the weakness of both the Chinese and Western way of doing things. We will recover quickly, because we are still nimble and innovative. China will have a much harder time.
Article from 2016:
https://www.wabe.org/atlanta-cdc-employees-express-anxiety-over-trumps-win/
“Employees at the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the mood in their office is somber.
The employees of one of the largest federal agencies in Atlanta said theyre concerned about job safety, funding and new public health policies under Donald Trumps presidency.
At the General Muir deli across the street from the CDC, a few employees talked to WABE, asking that their names not be used. One microbiologist said her colleagues were crying in the hallways.
Its really sad, she said. Its depressing. Im eating a bagel to try and be happy.”
I think Rosenstein’s sister stated the truth.
I don’t think she started a panic.
The numbers coming out of Japan and S.Korea, showing they had lost control is what started the market sell off.
