"Additionally, the laboratory data in our study showed increased odds of coronavirus and human metapneumovirus in individuals receiving influenza vaccination."

Maybe I'm one of the lucky to not be getting the flu vaccine.
What’s the point of posted this old article now? There’s nothing anyone can do about it now. Except you can gloat.
I had not heard this and am glad he posted it.
Thanks, C210N.
Thanks for posting. As with most everything, there are pros & cons. I appreciate being able to make informed decisions.
So people who have had the flu vaccine can make more informed decisions as to their risk profile.
I’m glad he posted this.
Seriously? This is not meant as a gloat at all.
This is news, if in fact, the existing flu vaccine makes one more susceptible to Coronavirus.
Perhaps one might question flu vaccines in general, and be more discerning of any new vaccine that may become available for CoronaV, as to what the negatives of getting it may be.
Relevant factual info should always be welcome. Especially as people assess their risks and wonder about more vaccines coming.
Tsk. Tsk.
The State shall condemn posting of information that some people might not care to hear. The State demands that before posting info you shall conduct focus groups to discern if there are some people who may not be thrilled to learn about the topic matter.
What would be VERY interesting is to compare coronavirus infection rates/mortality vs levels of vaccination in different countries.
Not enough data to do this well yet.
How is India faring during this global pandemic?
It seems the issue explored in this study is that although the flu vaccine provides some degree of temporary immunity to the flu, actually having the flu (at whatever level, and recovering) apparently provides some temporary non-specific immune resistance to some other viruses. (And the flu vaccine does not produce this non-specific immune effect.)
Not sure how significant the “protection” is from having the flu, but if you are someone who is at some significant risk if you get the flu, you should probably have the flu vaccine regardless.
I think there’s a ton of anecdotal proof to show that people receiving vaccinations of any sort are for a short period thereafter liable to infections from other sources, probably because the immune system has a hard time responding to multiple challenges at the same time, along with the factor that nobody really knows what state his immune system is in at the time the vaccination is received.
My wife and I stopped getting flu vaccines 15 years ago. We actually read the efficacy research and found it unimpressive. However, every year we got the vaccination, we got flu. Our doctor tried to tell us that it would have been worse if we had not had the vaccine. We decided to do our own “clinical trial”. I don’t necessarily recommend that strategy for others, but it has worked very well. No flu shots for 15 years - zero cases of flu. However, we are almost religious about hand washing, use nutrition and good health practices to build our immune systems and stay away from large gatherings (other than church) when flu is traveling around our community.
Ok, enough.
Basically here is what we know:
Everything is a symptom of the Coronavirus according to some study done by some people somewhere.
Everything causes Coronavirus according to a study conducted by someone somewhere.
Everything that you have ever taken, gotten inculcated for and drank enhances Coronavirus according to studies conducted by someone somewhere at sometime.
Thank you for that.
It helps validate a decision we made maybe 30 years ago (were they giving shots back then?) not to get flu shots.
We’ve never had one.
My god,the last time I knew, many entities such as the VA,recommended getting the Flu shot. I don’t see that now but the new VA website is pretty good with pertinent information.
You are wise people.
I appreciate the information.
I’ve gotten the flu shot almost every year for the last 20 years.
If that’s an additional risk factor, then I want to know it. It weighs in on the measures I take to protect myself.
Facts are not fear mongering. If you can’t handle the facts, the problem is not the facts.

What a crazy comment! So, we get a report from a reliable source that provides us with good information about this crazy Wuhuan virus and you accuse him of gloating.
Thank you C210N for gloating!!
