A former associate director of a US biotechnology company is facing up to seven years in prison in China after allegedly hiding her coronavirus symptoms and flying from Los Angeles to Beijing in hopes of receiving treatment.
The Chinese national, 37, gobbled down anti-fever medicine at LAX to suppress her high temperatures before boarding the 13-hour flight back to her homeland with her husband and son, Chinese authorities said.
The mother-of-one, named as Jie Li, worked for Biogen, a multinational firm at the center of an outbreak of the coronavirus in Massachusetts. Around 30 per cent of the confirmed cases in the state are believed to be linked to a conference held by the company in Boston in February.

Has to be more to the story though.
She could go to jail for hiding her symptoms and possibly infecting everyone else on the plane, but it was OK for the commies to hide the growing problem for weeks and lie about it to the world.
But it’s likely she won’t spend a day in jail. Everything you hear publicly about her situation from the commies will be for its propaganda value only.
They will say:
“She’s a victim of racism and xenophobia who was forced to flee the country because Trump’s response to the made-in-the-USA virus was so incompetent. She figured that spending time in jail would be better than dying on a street in America.”
Whatever stolen information she brought with her got her the get-out-of-jail-free card and the hospital care she needed.
Ms. Li said the hospital refused to admit her.
Not every case of pneumonia requires hospitalization.
Beijing police said that Ms. Li took anti-fever medicine before boarding her plane and then failed to inform the flight attendants of her health condition with honesty.
So, she had medication. Was she prescribed medication for her pneumonia? Was she being treated on an outpatient basis?
Seems to me that she, as a young and healthy otherwise person her doctor did not see the need for her to be admitted.
She on the other hand had been worked into a panic by the press reports of the deadly virus and could not believe that she was going to live unless she was in a hospital

If she is so stupid as to choose Chinese medical help over American medical help, she needs to be off the street.
I gotta say that I have not entirely dismissed this idea.
How about all of the Americans on the flight from Boston to LA? Are they just collateral damage? This woman was a biological weapon in action.
Nowadays, even dudes can be mothers.
They can keep the spy!
