I don’t get the California state-wide shutdown. It’s a diverse state. There is a great deal of open land, farm land, mountain retreats, et al. Shutting down the cities makes sense to me... shutting down the rest... Why?!

Great. I repeat myself but this happening in an election year is the worst. If Trump takes anything short of the most drastic action and it spreads they will crucify him. So all cost/benefit analysis is forbidden.
