Yeah. Those are some of the questions we have. DH will email our Vanguard guy for info and we hope he’s been keeping up.

Does SS and 401K income count toward the 75K limit?

Honestly, someone with a fixed income stream (SS, pension) who will not be losing any money during the shutdown period should not be receiving a bailout check. My wife and I was examples of this (one taking SS, the other with a modest pension).

For retirees, I would rather they scale back the RMD amounts. They probably can't waive them entirely for 2020, although they may, but they could reduce the RMD amounts for 2020 by 50%. Something like that.
