New York (CNN Business)A dozen years after the infamous Wall Street bailout, Uncle Sam is once again preparing to rescue large chunks of Corporate America from the coronavirus.
Everyone from Boeing (BA) and General Electric (GE) to the battered airline industry could receive federal assistance designed to limit the economic fallout from the pandemic. There's even talk of bailing out the oil industry.
But as many bankers learned firsthand in 2008, bailouts from Washington typically come with strings attached. In exchange for their support, politicians demand restrictions that make the rescues more politically palatable.
And Senator Elizabeth Warren already has a list of demands to be included in any bailout packages for major corporations hurting from the coronavirus crisis.

Warren should be ignored, no matter the subject.
E.W., you are an irrelevant loser. Can we demand you shut up?
I agree with these two:
- Permanent ban on share buybacks
- No dividends or executive bonuses while receiving relief and for three years afterwards
I would add clawing back the last 5 years of executive bonuses, benefits, and perqs are in order.
The rest of her list is garbage.
Psychojawea want heap big wampum, and beads from sky to sky.
Yep, I am right there on that one.
Demand #2. See demand #1.
The banks were the main beneficiaries of government bailouts in 2008. Americans hurt by the economic consequences of the China virus, from individuals to businesses, will be subject to bank loan delinquencies. In all fairness shouldn’t the banks do a no fault, no penalty extension of loans?
I have a list of demands for those who live off the government... and even more demands for those paying less tax than I do...
Nobody gives a rip, Psychojewea.
Go away Lie-awtha.
She’s not a real Indian, maybe not even a real person.
Can’t we just ignore her

The company executives did not cause this virus. But neither did the U.S. Treasury. So if the Treasury has to take a hit, so should those executives.
I cant believe Im agreeing with Warren. I am now going to sit next to a window, and see if I can spot any pigs flying.
No claw backs ever. We have the rule of law not a dictatorship.
Retired people have bought those stocks so that the dividends will support them.
I actually think your entire list shows a vindictive posture to the businesses that are the life blood of our Nation. Why not 20 years? the point is to get through the crisi not to slip in a poison pill.
Is she also asking for a pony, oh, and a very cold beverage for when she arrives at her ultimate and final destination?
Wisdom to live by.
Of course, but they did layer on the corporate debts, borrowing money to buy their shares back, increasing their stock price, and thus increasing their bonuses and values of their stock option. What they didn't do is make the company more efficient.
What they didn't do is save up for the rainy day. Rather, they financially engineered their way to riches. Now their scheme has collapsed and they want to bailed out. NO WAY.
Transgender children get to decide bailout loan terms!
Unless you want the stomach to invest in private equities that is. They don't follow SEC rules. The five years and out bunch that make or break private companies hoping to time getting back out after securing a new equity group. The cooked books are high risk buyer beware.
Demand away crockajawea. Your popular ideas are why you will never live in Big White Tee-pee.
