Twitter on Thursday denied a request by President Trumps campaign to put a manipulated media warning tag on content spread by Democrats under the social media giants new policy aimed at curbing the spread of misinformation.
According to emails reviewed by The Hill, the Trump campaign flagged new content on Twitter that it said had been deceptively edited to make it seem like the president had called the coronavirus a hoax.
At issue is a new video that has been viewed millions of times featuring audio of Trump saying: The coronavirus, this is their new hoax.
The Washington Posts fact checkers gave Four Pinocchios to a previous advertisement from former Vice President Joe Bidens campaign using the same audio.
Trumps full quote was: Coronavirus. Theyre politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs, you say, Hows President Trump doing?, Oh, nothing, nothing. They have no clue, they dont have any clue And this is their new hoax. But you know we did something thats been pretty amazing.
The Post determined that Trump was talking about Democratic efforts to politicize the virus, rather than the virus itself.
The full quote shows Trump is criticizing Democratic talking points and the medias coverage of his administrations response to coronavirus, the Post wrote. He never says that the virus itself is a hoax, and although the Biden camp included the word their, the edit does not make clear to whom or what Trump is referring.

Trump should use emergency powers to take over twitter as official communications.
But this tells me it is a hoax if you follow exacting patterns of Democrat and swamp operatives and their manipulation of echo chamber journalism. (Their words, not mine)
Is the War Powers Act in place yet?
Turn Twitter into a government media channel.
Yes!
The Washington Posts fact checkers gave Four Pinocchios to a previous advertisement from former Vice President Joe Bidens campaign using the same audio.
The Twitter founder should be located in his hideout in Africa, and the information passed to jihadists.
The propaganda press would have much less chance of misquoting us if we used fewer pronouns. A spoken sentence might sound awkward with repeating the antecedent but they are more clear. These are dangerous times with much evil around us.
