Because in the up-to-minute inventory systems, they take what has been sold and compare to the what is onhand and move the order up or down in accordance to the numbers.

I generally agree with Tucker Carlson, but I disagreed the other day when he seemed to be defending panic-buying because "your obligation is to protect your family first." But panic-buying is not the same as taking precautions to have emergency supplies on hand BEFORE an emergency so you DON'T have to engage in panic-buying.
Panic-buying says "Me first, and screw everybody else." Precautionary buying harms no one else, and might even give you a surplus with which to help neighbors, friends, or relatives.

Bath tissue fiber contracts are far out and as a fungible commodity. That goes for both Brazillian stocks and Canadian / American stocks of both hardwood and softwood.
Ramped up production this quarter only results in lost production in June, July, and August.
All premium bath tissue in North America is made of 60% Brazillian hardwood eucalyptus, and 40% North American softwood. I work in the consumer bath tissue industry.
