I was thinking along those lines, too.
This is a nuclear-armed Islamic nation. Functioning, proven, active nuclear weapons.

The “locusts” thing just struck me, after what went on in Africa recently.

Neighbors dressing differently or pronouncing a word differently often leads to war.

And that’s why we have been subsidizing them with oil purchases since the 60’s. (Among other things) If they can afford food, they won’t go looking for it. So our funds have been spreading love around in there to keep it quiet.
Besides, Pakistan has the largest amount of nuclear scientists in a country per population in the world. With all those brains, surely they could come up with a plan to solve the problem. Lost in the shuffle.
