As far a Rush is concerned, who would take respiratory illness advice or information from someone who has smoked himself into stage IV lung cancer? I would suggest he has somewhat of a blind spot there.

He was just on the presser yesterday talking about how bad it was that the spring breakers were there doing what they were doing. Yet just now there is a thread where a majority of FReepers support them saying they know a hoax when they see it. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
Well, one the one hand it’s stupid to gather in crowds during a pandemic, on the other hand it’s America, still, sort of, for a little while longer, maybe...
I am not suggesting it’s a hoax at all.
I think this is very serious. Its as if they think you either don’t get sick at all...or you die if you are old.
The leaders of the conservative movement are complicit in that message. Those comparing it to flu have only a rudimentary understanding of how a virus works—as is evidenced by ridiculous statements like, “ This will get better in the summer” when there is historical evidence and practical evidence that is simply not true.
But, they will get sick. And that’s what will happen.
