One of my best friends from the second grade through high school is Jewish. We still keep in contact, but his far left leanings border on mental illness. And in fact mental illness does run in his family. His sister, who I took to the senior prom killed herself after becoming a veterinarian. His oldest brother is usually in some kind of trouble and has been in and out of jail and mental hospitals. His younger brother is in poor health most likely related to eating and injecting home made concoctions made from ground up silver which he tries to talk everyone else into using as well.

His parents were screwballs who smoked marijuana in front of their children, and both died long ago from illnesses that were likely related to poor lifestyle choices. Only his older sister seems to be fairly normal.

Despite my friend and his family having all of these issues, he still believes that he has all the answers to save the world. I finally got tired of him lecturing me about my “carbon footprint”, etc... after driving to Seattle to take him to Costco and things like that. His Seinfeldish nonsense was kind of amusing at times, but not worth the aggravation, especially after President Trump was elected.
