“The results suggest that the number of cases worldwide could be five to 10 times higher than what has been reported, meaning the true number of cases could be higher than 1.5 million...”

Wouldn’t this mean then that the death rate is much lower than we thought? And since they’re saying that this is 10 times more fatal than the flu, if 10 times more people have it than we thought had it, that then doesn’t that bring it back to having the same fatality rate as the flu?

Don’t go there, bro. The doomsayers of FearRepublic won’t like it.

Why yes, yes it would.

The same could e said of the regular seasonal flu putting the fatality rate much lower for that. Numbers can be manipulated.

It would. It’s not likely to be true that it is that much, but the math would work that way. If it were true then the apparent spread rate would be much, much faster, and the untraceable portion of the infected would have been much higher.

And since they’re saying that this is 10 times more fatal than the flu, if 10 times more people have it than we thought had it, that then doesn’t that bring it back to having the same fatality rate as the flu?

It would if the math ever actually said it was only 10 times more fatal than the flu. For example, for China it is now showing as between 20 and 110 times higher fatality rate as the flu, depending upon which flu you compare it to.

You make the assumption that the two are identical in how they act in the body - Cornoa and the flu - and result in the same death rates because they are the same in transmission data. That’s a big assumption to make. They are different diseases.
