I’m guessing that they’re trying to get those nurses through it and back to work before the estimated peak at around 4 or more weeks from now.

CT has 41 cases according to the Johns Hopkins site. Unless there is a tsunami of cases not yet reported to CDC and hence JH ... how the heck are they at capacity?
Is this just a liberal early wolf crier?
Entirely possible I'm missing something here ...

Why can't they be tested?
How many COVID19 patients are there?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Hospitals everywhere run closer to capacity than you might think. “surges” aren’t built into their operating model.

Yet they're at capacity?

And that’s the weakness in the American system. We can bring a lot of medical resources to an individual, but we’re not designed for mass intense treatment.

Hospitals usually run at about 85-95% capacity this time of the year anyway...and they probably have a good amount of “suspected’/isolation room” type patients waiting on results of a COVID-19 test.

It is awful. Hopefully some good will come out when a light is shone on the system.

“maximum pain” orders kicking in.

Someone has to make sure the paperwork is in order. This is proof that health care costs often don’t involve actual health care.
