Yesterday I took my grandson to the range. He’s 14 and has only fired a shotgun - this was his first time firing a pistol.
The MD governor had put in place restrictions on businesses that have large groups - no more than 50 at a time. When we arrived, there was a line out the door, one line for the range and the other for the gun shop.
It didn’t take us long to get inside. It was weird having so few people there. I let him use my 9mm semi and I also rented a 38 special revolver. He kinda liked the 9mm better, less kickback, heh. Overall, he did really well; nice grouping on the target.
Afterwards, we checked out the gunshop. Holy mackerel, the place was depleted! The salesman said people have been snatching up guns & ammo.
The thing is, I would call the fire department. It’s not all the residents being required to call the fire departments for me, or all the fire departments in the state being required to respond to my fire.
Well, there is a fire. And they are responding. Not much you can do about.go out if you want. Gather in groups if you want.
Just make sure you dont go to the hospital when you get sick.
Deal?
It will be a good learning experience for all the snowflakes who think socialism and govt nationalization of industry would be a good idea.
Let them feel the consequences first hand.
Nah, I'd rather be responsible and stay home as much as possible until this is over, unlike the bar-hopping knuckleheads who give these governors the perfect excuse to shut entire states down. I'm not even planning to see my older relatives or other relatives with health problems, possibly for a long time, depending on how long this lasts.
F-tons of other people are also sequestering themselves out of concern for others. But all those workers in still-clean counties get punished because of people in eastern PA and Pittsburgh.
As for the people still gathering in large groups, just take off and nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
You would think it would work like that..but i have a feeling they will get even flakier.
They are living their fantasy of mutual suffering.
Plus a lot of people’s latent disorders have come to the surface.
Panic can do that to a person. It shuts off the part of their brain that can distinguish between reality and non-reality.
A good number of them are not coming back to reality once this subsides.
Not to mention all the germaphobes this is scare will create.
The Must Buy More Toilet Paper (MBMTP) crowd will drive stocks in paper mills to higher realms.
So, like every true American...you will be do the right thing...but you dont want to be told to do it. LOL..
Nonessential businesses. Not essential except in the economy. Nonessential except for the business owner.
This is the liberate democrat economic warfare
Flatten the curve? You mean of the Dow Jones and S&P 500?
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves. ― William Pitt the Younger
Kind of ironic - we know that the Deep State and others use fear as a way to steer and control the people - we had the commie/nuke war threat until the Berlin Wall came down then it wasnt viable anymore and up pops Globull Warming, which has many in fear that were gonna destroy the Earth even as we do less harm than past generations and none of the data actually supports anything but the earths climate and Mother Nature do not now, and never did have a balance and even if they did, we have no idea of how to maintain one or fix things...all our efforts end up causing more harm....the coronavirus scare is no different - the panic-induced knee-jerking will cause more harm than the virus.
Folks who would be up in arms if the government decided to tell them they could not move freely are now begging that same government to lock them, and everyone else, down....Id wager if, after doing that, the story evolved they would also go meekly to barb-wire surrounded camps/tent cities because the latest info said thats the only way to stop it. Even though we know that they use fear to guide and control us, so many cant see it through the red haze of insane panic....they not only welcome the government controls, they beg for them...
And the fear mongers will try to leverage it...
Reminds me of a saying that many FReepers, who are now acting insane, used to showcase:
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. Ben Franklin
I trust President Trump too - the mindless panic will cause more harm than the virus itself when all is said and done.
If my county or town shut down all non-essential businesses due to even 1 case of community spread, I would not lift a finger to stop it. Given the severity of this virus, it would be prudent. But when you shut down entire states and even the country, you risk killing the “patient” (America), that’s all I’m saying. I’m not altogether opposed to statewide shutdowns, I just think they’re a little premature right now.
I actually agree. Raiding a year’s worth of hamburger off the shelves is imprudent, and will deprive seniors and other vulnerable shoppers of the vital items they need to hunker down and go out only infrequently (which is what all Americans should do right now, IMO).
Yep - lots of grocery shelves are starting to look like we’re in N. Korea or Venezuela.
This is about a communist takeover.
Phase 1 was gaslighting the sheeple into thinking they will die without government intervention.
Phase 2 is control the people and shutdown their businesses.
Phase 3 is government providing payment for business rents and payroll.
Phase 4 is the government simply stating that since the government already pays for everything that the government now owns the businesses.
Communism complete: Total control of the sheeple and a complete takeover of commerce.
The liberal States of Washington, Pennsylvania, California, and Colorado have implemented martial law, selecting which businesses must close and that the people must stay indoors.
