Canada is closing its borders to non-citizens because of the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday.
U.S. citizens are exempt from the ban “for the moment,” he said.
Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Gregoire, tested positive for COVID-19 week. Trudeau has no symptoms, but has been in isolation since last week as a precautionary measure.
Canada is closing its borders to non-citizens because of the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, while noting that the ban, “for the moment,” does not apply to U.S. citizens.
“We can still slow the spread of this virus,” Trudeau said at a press conference. “It is time to take every precaution to keep people safe.”
Canada will make some exceptions to the closure of its borders, including for U.S. citizens.
“We will be denying entry to Canada to people who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents,” Trudeau said.
“This measure will carve out some designated exceptions, including for air crews, diplomats, immediate family members of Canadian citizens and, at this time, U.S. citizens.”

Trudeau during the press conference directed a message to Canadians who are traveling outside of the country at the moment.
“Let me be clear, if you’re abroad, it’s time to come home,” Trudeau said.

The Canadian airlines stopped flights a while ago. Not sure about China carriers but I have a feeling this will end any of those as well.

Looks like Harry made it back in.
But how are their security teams planning on jetting back and forth?
