Turn off the computer algorithmic trading, and the craziness will subside.

I’m far more worried about a depression brought on by the media-driven panic than I am about the virus. A depression will kill far more people than the virus will.

Our President, stated directly from the moment he took office, he didn’t follow the stock market. The amount of packaged leveraging has been obscene. Again, Empire State index -21.5

Lenders have bumped mortgage rates UP to curb mortgage applications. Trump needs to stick a knife in lender’s backs.

it’s the fear of overwhelming our health care delivery system ... buildings, bed, machines, and people ... especially the people ... look at Italy ...

Yep, the Chamber of Commerce party. Mostly useless, with the exception of a few, bold folks.

>>Not sure why they did not close the markets for a couple weeks. This is insanity.

That would take an act of congress. Regulated national markets can not be closed for more than 3 days at a time.

I was going to retire this year. Having second thoughts.

With all the government guarantees I see inflation. Not good for a fixed income.

Market is down because institutional investors are sitting on the sidelines. If you notice the volume is very low. Day traders are pushing this market around.

In a few weeks we could see a 5000 to 6000 point rise in the Dow. As the earth tilts the virus will die out. There will be panic buying like we have never seen before.

I sure am. It takes money to keep these doors open right now, and I’m not seeing anything coming across my desk to quote. I have reserves, but not unlimited ones.

My employees are getting nervous as hell right now, and I really can’t blame them. I’m just thanking God I have everything payed off and have no machine of building payments left. the Monthlies are bad enough but I can cover those for a long time if I lay everyone off.

This is going to suck, and TBH, I don’t think ANYONE saw this one coming. A slow down yes, but a damn brick wall, no.

I predict DOW will go to 12-15 thousand

***************

That’s nonsense. Yes, the economy is contracting but investors always look ahead.

The machine algorithms, professional traders and institutions will recognize ridiculous bargains and activate buying when the valuations of great American companies are at bargain basement prices. We’re nearing that territory right now.

As Warren Buffett says “Be greedy when others are fearful.” He knows a thing or two about investing.

While everyone else is panicking the smart money is looking for incredible buying opportunities. They know value when they see it.

The president badgered the Fed to do so

They refinanced the national debt. Big savings to U.S.

Be extra cautious with the quotes and terms that you do receive now. Even your good customers can flake out on you and not pay. They’re under the same stresses that you are. Make sure you’re not left holding the bag, especially if there are outside expenditures involved on your end.

I never usually ask for money up front from established customers unless the steel order is huge, but my terms just went 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 Net30 with 1-1/2%/10

Totally agree.

The really scary thing is our adversaries around the world are taking note of how easily we panic. It won’t be lost on them.
