BERLIN - Germany’s transport ministry plans to halt flights from Iran and China in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus, newspaper Bild reported on Monday, citing government sources.
The two countries are experiencing large outbreaks of the virus, which is now spreading rapidly in Europe.

China flights should have been halted by end of January. Iran should have been stopped by mid-Feb. Border situation with Italy should have been halted by early Feb. Probably over 90-percent of infections in Germany would not exist today...had they acted.

I am amazed that Germany was so slow on the uptake of this virus. Closing the gate after all the farm animals have escaped is always a losing decision.

As it is, Germany with a population of only 80 million has 6,000 coronavirus infections, while the US with a population of 330 million has only 4,000 infections.
