I’m wondering how long food service industry can keep their doors closed? This stuff going on doesn’t seem like its economically sound.

it isn’t, it is ruinous, esp. to smaller businesses.

no country voluntarily shuts off its economy at this level. but china did it, then italy did it, and now the entire western world is following suit.

you end up with a near-binary choice on analysis -

1) this isn’t that bad and ‘the motives for all these (adversarial) countries all gutting their economies are ulterior

2) this is worse than anyone is saying openly.

Less than a month.

All of their perishable foods will rot in 14 days. They still have to pay for it.

Additionally, they will be nearly as stigmatized as cruise ships when they reopen; and their foot traffic will be near zero.
