First of all, it was a bleak Sunday with no FR & no Sunday Morning Thread last week so I’m glad all is ‘happening’ today.
Second, I am saying prayers of thanksgiving that President Trump tested negative for the Coronavirus. I didn’t realize how tense I was over it until the word came that the result was ‘negative’. The DemonRats would have jumped on that situation and demanded he step down or some other such nonsense ..... a real horror is if Trump/Pence are incapacitated, the next batter up is the “booze-and-Botox besotted old bag [who] cant manage her dentures, much less a pandemic” (h/t to James Woods for that description).
Next ... something totally unrelated to politics (unless you’re PETA) ... the Iditarod is currently running. Someone came up with the wonderful idea to have a “Faces of Iditarod” website. Here is the description:
This is a just small sampling of the thousands of selfless people involved, one way or the other, in the Last Great Race on Earth®. Mushers, volunteers, spectators, village residents and of course the canine athletes. They are all on equal footing here. The images were made during pre-race activities as well as all along the 1,049 miles of trail from Anchorage to Nome. Both outdoors and indoors. Our hope is that from the images here, which take the subject out of the Iditarod elements, combined with their stories (audio & written) and personal info, will show what this thing we call the IDITAROD® really is an Alaska event of real-life humans and superstar canines that is simply like no other event in the world.
CLICK ON A PHOTO TO READ THEIR STORIES & HEAR THEIR VOICES.
Here are the links to three of the dogs, just as examples. A lot of the people look super interesting, too; however, I’ve been focusing mainly on the dog descriptions:
Note, the mushers speak for their dogs, of course :-)

Great post!
I am following the Iditarod because my Alabama Home Boy, Jesse Holmes, of Life Below Zero fame, is in it.
I heard he is in Kaltag now but was having lunch yesterday with the lovely Berington twins!
He needs to marry the single one.
