Always enjoyed GFR. You could tell it was them with their opening guitar riff on several songs. Captain, My Captain, a great “ build “ song it lures you into the story and gets stronger as it progresses.
Music as it was, not garbled , shouting and nonsensical lyrics.
You know, I loved them but hated their Locomotion cover.
Bubble gum pop.
But over the years, I have come to even appreciate this one cover by them.
Mark Farner really wails it out, and there is a neat guitar solo that’s typically GFR awesome.
It was great listening to music late 60’s early 70’s. I even like Soul. Traditional soul, like Marvin Gaye, Temptations, O’Jays, Spinners, Chi-lites, etc. Before stupid Disco.
