Washington Post fact-checker: Biden ad hitting Trump uses 'video manipulation' (Surprise)
The Hill ^ | 03 13 2020 | Joe Concha

The Washington Post's fact-checker column awarded four Pinocchios to former Vice President Joe Biden on Friday for a campaign ad that creates "a false narrative that does not reflect the event as it occurred."

The column said the video manipulation distorts President Trump's remarks about the coronavirus.

The campaign ad says Trump referred to the coronavirus as "a hoax" at a campaign rally in South Carolina last month, but Washington Post fact-checker Meg Kelly called the editing of the president's remarks a "blatant" misrepresentation.

"At the 10-second mark [of the ad], the camera shows a tight shot of the president saying 'coronavirus' and then cuts to a wide shot where [Trump] says, 'this is their new hoax.' Both clips are from Trump’s Feb. 28 campaign rally in North Charleston, S.C., but he never said 'coronavirus, this is their new hoax.' Rather, Biden’s ad clipped a large part of Trump’s speech to make it seem as though he had."

"Ultimately, the seriousness of the coronavirus outbreak, the fact that Trump had clarified his comments on the matter before the ad was released, and the blatant way the Biden camp isolated his remarks about the American Dream pushed us to Four Pinocchios," Kelly added. "Campaigns must be willing to make their case without resorting to video manipulation."

Biden's campaign defended the ad.

“a false narrative that does not reflect the event as it occurred.”

That describes much of CNN’s, the Post’s and NYT’s daily reporting on President Trump.

They must be getting polling data that says the attempts to blame Wuhan on Trump aren't working. Doesn't mean they won't stop trying though.

Maybe the blatant attempt by the Chinese to blame Wuhan on the US is having the opposite effect in the Monica Media.

Not just Biden. I was forced to listen to NPR by the driver during a recent expedition, when a reporter started snarking about "this know-nothing anti-science President who refers to COVID-19 as a hoax". I almost went through the over-head at the audacity of this lie. Sadly, all the NPR-worshipping libs accept such bravo sierra as The Truth, since it reinforces their established liberal beliefs.

Coincidentally, somehow the radio circuit breaker fell out during the return trip. Imagine that...

The fact that the Washington Post would criticize Joe Biden’s campaign shows that the DNC does not consider Biden to be the presumptive candidate. They fully intend to substitute their chosen one during, or before, the convention.

Fortunately, Biden writes a new ad for the Trump campaign to play everyday. The problem is, you can’t play all of Biden’s gaffes. The average American can’t process that much stupidity and senility.

“Biden’s campaign is a waste of time and money the scatter brained couldn’t operate a Kool-Aid stand.”

Biden’s purpose was to kill the Bernie Sanders campaign. This has been accomplished. The real question is whom will replace Biden before the election?

Biden’s addled brain can not accept this reality. He will never be president. I pray he is the democrat nominee. I suspect he will not be.
