Full Title: People who fully recover from the coronavirus can be left with '20 to 30%' less lung function, and gasping for breath when they walk quickly, Hong Kong doctors find.

People who recover from the coronavirus can still be left with substantially reduced lung functions, Hong Kong Hospital Authority have found after observing the first wave of discharged patients.

The doctors found a drop of 20% to 30% in lung capacity in two or three out of those 12 patients.

WARS (Wuhan Acute Respiratory Syndrome)

Fitting, as this could be the trigger.

While it's too early to establish long-term effects of the illness, scans of nine patients in the group suggested that recovered patients had sustained organ damage, the Post reported.

I'm not saying this is written in stone and I'm definitely cynical about such a small sampling. It is something to be concerned about if it turns out to be true for the masses who do survive a full on lung attack of this thing. Consider this early report noteworthy but not to overly concerned about until we do get the results of a much larger sampling.

Now if we could only find a way for your mouth to be something more than a rectal orifice. Be careful insulting people on this forum. You might get it back in ways you never imagined.

Chinese interest discussion groups were calling it WARS back in January, well before they came up with Covid-19.

WHO, heavily influenced by the Chinese Communist Party, probably called it Covid-19 to keep WARS from sticking.

Thank you. FR has always been known for having members able to smell bullsh*t better than most.

I keep telling people here that Satan will tell the truth nine times straight before dropping a lie on a target.

People that buy into the news syndicated tap dances are not yet wise. But there is hope as people mature and see things more clearly.

Getting past ANY bad URI (bad upper respiratory infection) leaves the breathing function performing at below capacity initially.

That is not uncommon, nor is it specific to Cov-19.

It can take diligence on the part of the patient, and time, sometimes a few weeks, before the breathing weakness subsides.

Remaining sedentary after a URI is NOT a good idea. Get up and get moving, making your breathing process exercise so it gains its strength back. In hospitals they give a little plastic apparatus to any patient who has been in bed very long. The patient uses it - puts it too their mouth and tries to suck air into the device (it raises a ball in a tube), to exercise their breathing, because just being bedridden your breathing ability can have fallen 10-20%. Some hospitals have the patient take the device home and tell the patient to keep exercising with it.

Add a URI to the mix and a 10-20% difference upon leaving the hospital is not strange. There is NOTHING medical that says that is, necessarily, a permanent result of any URI.
