The novel coronavirus and the SARS outbreak of 2003 have two things in common: Both are from the coronavirus family, and both most likely started in wet markets.
At such markets, outdoor stalls are squeezed together to form narrow lanes, where locals and visitors shop for cuts of meat and ripe produce. A stall selling caged chickens may abut a butcher counter, where meat is chopped as nearby dogs watch hungrily. Some vendors hock hares, while seafood stalls display glistening fish and shrimp.

As the Chinese government has gotten a grip on its breakout of the 2019 coronavirus disease, or COVID-19, internal narratives have been shifting. Having initially declared a peoples war on the disease, Chinese President Xi Jinping, clad in a facemask, went to Wuhan this week the city where the virus, known as SARS-nCoV-2, is thought to have had its zoonotic genesis.
On Thursday, Lijian Zhao, an official spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took to Twitter to insinuate that it might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Zhao, no stranger to Twitter controversy, added that the United States should be transparent and make public your date. The US owe us an explanation, he added.
That message was then taken up by Chinese diplomats overseas. For example, the Chinese ambassador to South Africa, repeated that line. Messaging underplaying the suspected zoonotic origins of the disease in Chinas Hubei province were combined with a celebration of Chinas national response and its implications for the world: Chinas endeavor to combating the epidemic has bought time for intl preparedness, the Chinese foreign ministry suggested this week.

Supposedly China has now shut down all of these markets permanently.
Consider yourself lucky. I saw them. Theyre beyond disgusting. Not only do I want to swear off meat, I may swear off vegetables as well. Anyone got some paint chips?
Dont forget the DISGUSTING bat soup !!! It is ILLEGAL all over the world to buy/sell/eat bats, but the Chicom government thugs just looked the other way.
These wet markets expose raw meats, seafood and vegetables to stacked up cages of live (likely) diseased-ridden dogs, puppies, cats, snakes, crocodiles, and BATS!!! Absolutely disgusting.....
There is ZERO evidence that this thing has any relationship with wet markets.
This is a bio weapon.
Here's a picture of a wet market. There are more
Pictures are not the true picture. You have to see them first hand. A little better in Taiwan but not much. The meat just lays there with no ice and flies all over. Be advised to wear tall boots.
Unless you have spent time in a slaughter house you would not be able to handle the smells. It is a very interesting experiance.
I ate food from plenty of these kinds of markets during my months there. Spraying something off with a hose was "cleaning it"... and that's for surfaces and bowls and bins that are outdoor, with bloody meats... for days and weeks and months on end... But it works for billions of Chinese, and I didn't die either... but it isdefinitely not what we are used to in the Western World.
China is also directly responsible for most of the world's increases in carbon emissions since 1990, and for most of the plastic waste in the ocean (and that's a true majority, not just a plurality). If and when China decides to stop humiliating themselves for their lack of sanitation and cleanliness, things can improve significantly.
(China does NOT like to be embarrassed, as a country or culture... and one of their advantages as a monolithic society is that they can and do make massive changes REALLY FAST when even the government is on board. Calling them out for pollution globally and fervently would be a far better use of Greta's time, actually.)
Folded with HIV to militarize it. It's patently obvious. The appropriate response would be to unleash a bioweapon against Chinese livestock. Starvation is something the Chinese apparently have a great fondness for...
Uh Huh
Yea
Sure
Out of nowhere, after thousands of years and no history of this virus, it just pops up in the Bat soup at the local WuShu farmers market!
And it’s got teeth!
But nobody ever heard of it, wrote about it...nothing
Sure
OMG you really dont want to look utterly filthy disgusting places how the hell can people eat this crap!!! I cant believe people from this country actually want to live there YUCK!! It would be a GREAT way to go on a diet jump on a plane and stay in China for 4 weeks you would be very thin in no time!!!
Spy dont we just tell China that no Chinese can visit America until they clean up/reform these freaking nasty wet markets?
