New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio declared a state of emergency in Americas largest city Thursday to try to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Speaking at a press conference at City Hall, de Blasio also announced that he would cut the legal occupancy of New York Citys bars and restaurants in half.
The mayor said he wont be surprised if businesses end up closing, but, "These are the rules we will enforce from now on.
I can assure you, none of us wanted to take this action, de Blasio said. But it is the point where its necessary.
The mayor told reporters the city had 95 confirmed cases of coronavirus, a rise from 42 from Wednesday that de Blasio called troubling.

How to predict what De Dumio will do: Look at China. He read their book.
Is that what he called the $100M, or whatever obscene amount it was, that got shoveled to his wife and then disappeared?
That was $500,000,000.
“Never underestimate the stupidity of large groups of people”.
Exactly. The scariest thing is not the problem or crisis, but the stupid people.
We’ve got our political crooks for sure, but they are pikers compared to the Dems.
Federal supremacy is what matters here. These idiots are going to get a surprise they are going to regret.
The only stupid thing is not voting for Trump. And Trump has figured out how to defeat the anti-Trump propaganda.
I wouldn’t go there on a good day.
“It will be interesting to see if panic spreads and how authorities deal with it.”
Ummm - panic is spreading far faster and wider than the virus...if you haven’t read the article with Rush’s take on how we don’t even remember the 2009 Swine Flu deal because everyone was not set into panic mode because Obama was pres and nobody politicized it - even though 60 million Americans were infected and over 300K hospitalized...yet here we are going nuts over a bug that is actually spreading at a much slower rate.
