he President has been making the point that the risk remains low and that message is still true today. He also was being a counter balance against the over hyped media. I’m greatful that he was.

In a population of 300 million the to date statistics don’t warrant the hype the media is portraying.
Lets use 300 deaths against that . The stat is .0001 % hardly a wipe out of the population.
The predictions of 40 - 50 % aren’t offset by how many of those will be terminal.
There is minimal reference to the data that shows this is the elderly population, of which I am a part of...
The data of actual OUS infected vs death is not being shared, to me, in a manner that gives some assurance that the population of the US will not be exterminated.
Also the normal deaths from the Flu aren’t really used.
Not to say that we shouldn’t be concerned and take the suggested precautions, I for one want to see some assurances instead of hype based on facts as they are, and will develop
The selling will dry up....the correction will bottom.
The economy will slow. The virus contagion will be over.
By June, everything roars back to life and record reinflation of the stock market will be the headlines in October and Trump will win re-election in a cakewalk.

You are probably on to something. This panic sell off mostly attributable to hype over something that is probably going to fade away... is creating one of the greatest buying opportunities in our lifetimes.

Well, as was hinted above, I think this isn’t over by a long shot...a landslide doesn’t stop just because the pressure point in the wrong spot is now gone.
There are many companies that managed to cantilever themselves out over the cliff with debt in the last twenty years. Disrupt their ability to service that debt—as with disrupted JIT supply lines from overseas, or their end product drops in demand or market price—and there’s potential for a whole lot of corporate implosions.

I think the [case-fatality rate] number, personally, I would say the number is way under 1 percent.
Trump’s broader claims were about the coronavirus’s mortality or case-fatality rate (CFR). Hannity referenced a 3.4 percent rate (meaning between three and four of every 100 people infected would die from it), and Trump explained at length that he personally believed COVID-19 to have a far lower mortality rate than 3.4 percent.
From there, he indicated his “hunch” was that many people infected with COVID-19 experienced such mild cases that they either didn’t seek medical help or presumably remained unaware they contracted the virus. Those people, Trump posited, were not included in official statistics because their cases went unreported. In essence, he said that far more people contracted COVID-19 than were officially counted, and those with severe symptoms were likelier to seek medical attention, and by extension, likelier to die of the virus.
It appeared Trump was necessarily (but not explicitly) describing asymptomatic carriers who were exposed to and would test positive for COVID-19 — but remained unaware they had contracted the virus. Moreover, he indicated some that mild cases involved people well enough to go to work, again possibly unaware they had even been exposed to or contracted COVID-19.
What he did not say is that anyone — asymptomatic or otherwise — ought to go to work. As the rumor spread, Trump tweeted a clarification.
