Actually another case is when some tourists to Yellowstone were advised to buy bear repellent to keep bears away. They then sprayed themselves down with it. Ended up in the hospital.

I don’t know about Jim Beam, but Elijah Craig seems to work. I haven’t come down with the Mexican Beer virus, aka Wuflu (suck on that, Ilhan) yet.
I’m mostly worried that Gov. Coonman Northam will shut down the state liquor stores with the excuse of trying to contain the Chinese corona virus.

The story makes me think of a character in Aristophanes' play The Clouds who has debts coming due and doesn't have the money to pay them. One solution that occurs to him is to kill himself.

Good observation. They needed something they could safely provide to make people forget their complete impeachment lie and screw up and leave he voters feeling that Trump is bad or inept. C-19 is it.
