The problem with COVID-19 is no one knows how many cases there have been worldwide. A lot of young folks may have had a mild case and blew it off as a cold. A lot of cases in third world countries may just go unreported. Unlike the flu it attacks mostly older people especially those with underlying health conditions so the death rate is certainly going to be higher than the flu. The only people that should be panicking are the old folks.
That was your original statement. I was just pointing out that the known numbers and extrapolation based on those numbers do not support your statement. It appears that the potential mortality rate is much higher than that of the flu.
