During his speech at Hillsdale College, conservative actor and director Nick Searcy said that Hollywood is broken forever. Everyone in that town knows in order to work, they must become a member of the Hate Conservatives, Christians and Republicans Club.
Incredibly, Harrison Ford calling Trump an SOB and Robert De Niro repeatedly saying F*** Trump enhances their status in Hollywood. When these arrogant elites express disdain for Trump, they are really exposing their disdain for you MAGA cap wearers who buy tickets to their movies. A fan of Call of the Wild said that because of Ford's anti-Trump statements she will not go to the movie starring Harrison Ford.
Searcy asserts that before Rush Limbaugh, for the most part, conservative talk radio and media did not exist. Rush has dramatically impacted our culture. He said that without Rush, we may not have Trump as president. Searcy announced his desire to be the Rush Limbaugh of a new movie industry; building studios and distribution for conservative movies.
While conservatives may fund documentaries which have limited audience appeal, they do not see the value in funding feature films with good conservative stories, says Searcy.
Rather than writing a documentary educating viewers about the transgender insanity happening in California, my buddy, filmmaker Robert Kirk shot a hilarious comedy short film about it. Nightmare in Paradise has over 55,000 views on YouTube.
Searcy noted that Jesus taught via storytelling.

I have noted that. There is not a lot of appeal to a documentary about Hillary's corruption. Yet that seems to be the type of film conservative filmmakers love to produce.
The film "Black Panther" about the fictional African country of Wakanda actually expressed some conservative ideas. For example, someone had asked a Wakandan why they did not allow outsiders to move into Wakanda. And the answer was that if they allowed people from other places to move in unrestricted, they would dilute the Wakandan culture until it became exactly like the cultures of those other places. I paraphrase here, since I don't remember the exact dialog.
But this is how to express conservatism in movies: show the context of conservative ideals in a setting that people understand, while also being entertaining. Superman really can go out there and entertain while fighting for truth, justice, and the American way just as he did for generations, without descending into some social justice dystopia.
Has anyone noticed that the leftist propaganda and political correctness infesting so many movies and shows these days makes them distinctly non-entertaining? How long can Hollywood stay afloat when it produces so many politically correct flops?
He’s great in “Justified”!
I’m a conservative in the entertainment industry. Other coast, but same industry.
It is a HUGE problem that conservatives do not get into the game and compete in the non-doc space. There’s a small group that finances explicitly Christian movies, and there’s a group of conservatives in the documentary space, but conservatives need to take risks on mainstream conservative-themed projects that can compete with Hollywood.
Nick was in Justified as an FBI Agent (the long-suffering boss of the lead character).
The upside is that film production is slowly but surely migrating away from Hollywood. It’s just become prohibitively expensive to be in business there.
Hollywood has no problem with expressions of conservative thought - as long as the culture being conserved is NOT American and/or White.
Once during an episode of “Justified”, Nick Searcy’s character was sitting in a car listening to Rush Limbaugh’s program.
A woman in my hometown moved back from LA to take care of her parents and started a catering co for homebound folks.
She was a personal chef to numerous stars and producers and directors and said there are lots of conservatives in Hollywood but they keep their mouths shut.
I purposely left out the fact that Wakanda was an African country, on a continent where civilization has never advanced beyond the tribal stage. I also left out the fact that the film was inherently racist, in its depiction that Wakanda was helpless to manage the threat to its existence until a bunch of white people arrived to show them how to use their advanced technology effectively. There are a lot of things that could be said culturally about that film, but the one that really stood out to me was the Wakandan attitude towards immigration.
Thanks.
I see he’s mainly an actor but he made a movie about Gosnell.
People would rather complain about Hollywood than risk their own money on creating the competitive product they want.
I think there are three main choices along with nearly any combination of them:
Personally, I do all three, less of the first, and more of the last two, especially the last. I have put my money where my mouth is, and not just through market ticket purchases. It hasn't worked out financially, but I don't regret doing it...though my wife probably does.
She is just gracious enough to understand how important it was to me, and doesn't mention it.
Same here. I’m well connected with paramount Warner and Disney and I meet with these leftard assholes every damn day.
Which is a terrible shame as we definitely could compete. Liberal writing has become ideology over plot, character, etc and is not really enticing to a lot of folks.
It’s a pain in the ass, isn’t it? LOL

Nick Searcy is great on twitter. Takes no prisoners.
