The patient began exhibiting symptoms in late February and was hospitalized locally on March 5, she said.

I haven’t been able to access FR normally since the middle of last month. Found a handful of folks here with the same problem. I can log in by using VPN in the Opera browser, or by using ProxySite.com

One fellow says he got a new router, and that solved the problem.

Thanks. I have a new router with a Unix-like OS and firewall running in it. Will try flushing it and rechecking the config, though, and tightening up kernel security.

Yeah, I was gonna bring that up.

And this:

On Jan 3rd, Chinese scientists had the gene mapped and posted it online for the rest of the world.

Ten days later, Ten freakin days later, on the 13th, the USCDC took that gene map the Chinese made and uploaded to another share server.

So, are we to believe that almost two months after the gene was mapped, that our USCDC cannot produce more than a coupla thousand tests a day even though South Korea cdc has already processed 100,000 tests and have 100,000 more ready?

Absolute bullshit. The only thing we get in return from the billions of tax dollars we have put into our cdc is a line of bullshit so bad and deep it makes us look like the idiots we are.

The cdc has done nothing but lie to us, bullshit us, and do everything it can to hide the fact that the shotcallers made the decision to let this thing spread.

China locked down Hubei province on Jan 24 and shut down its entire economy. Had the rest of the world wanted to stop it, they could’ve. Sorry...no international air travel into the US without a month of quarantine, negative tests, from anywhere. If China could shut down an entire province, the rest of the world could of shut down international air travel for a coupla months.

But no. For a month after that there still is no serious effort to contain anything, there was a concerted effort to make sure this spread far and wide to all corners of the world.

It was obvious. And the entire time the cdc bullshit us to make it appear otherwise.

Innate vs adaptive. I wonder if this is part of the never discussed biological cost of immunizations.

As I understand the foul-up, the CDC, in it’s infinite wisdom, designed a 3-in-1 test kit (SARS, MERS, COVID19) which had a defect in one of its components, ruining the kit for all three tests. Beyond stupid, particularly in the face of a potential pandemic. Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Community spread. I wonder how long COVID-19 has really been in the U.S., but was not diagnosed because there were no test kits.

No test kits, flu symptoms, flu season.

But sometimes it really is zebras...

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

I’ve been having trouble for the past week or so with losing my connection to Verizon Wireless Broadband. I have to keep reconnecting.

One part of the day seems OK.

Almost seems like someone else is using my connection somehow.

FR was particularly hard to use this morning.

Trump’s early and subsequent calls were correct and probably the most he could do at the time.

Politics is the art of the possible.

Are we all dead yet?

Patience, patience, we all will die.

Eventually.

Of something...

If they posted ethnic disparities with respect to susceptibility, there would be no end to the grief that they would get. Charles Murray continues to suffer attacks to the day for his graph showing racial and ethnic disparities in IQ in The Bell Curve.

FD: I personally don't resent, as a White person, that the Chinese are a little smarter than I am on average. If they were free, they would be world-beaters, but they are led by Winnie the Flu and his gang of idiots.
