No, you’re wrong there. Afghanistan is already and always has been a hell hole. As for the Taliban not abiding with their peace agreement, check out how the 1st Anglo-Afghan War turned out. In particular Elphinstone’s withdrawal from Kabul to India. Well, only one out of thousands actually made it back to India.

Ending like our withdrawal from Viet Nam with helicopters on the embassy roof will be like a walk in the park compared to what happened in the Khyber Pass in 1842.
