Washington (CNN)Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said on Thursday that he opposes censuring Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer amid a controversy over comments the New York Democrat made about Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch.
Graham, a close ally of President Donald Trump, explained that his position on the issue is, in part, because Schumer walked back his remarks, but also because it could lead to Democrats attacking Trump.
"I don't want to start censuring everybody," the South Carolina Republican said, later adding, "If we start censuring him, they're going to want to censure Trump, and this stuff never ends."

Schumer's comments are unprecedented whereas every pol has criticized SC decisions.

Title 18 is the part of our federal law that deals with criminal matters, and section 401 grants courts the power to punish contempt. The Nine could move against the senator sua sponte, meaning on the court’s own motion, by issuing a heavy fine, say, or seizing his law license, or worse.
..... the plain language of Section 401 says that “a court of the United States shall have power to punish by fine or imprisonment, or both, at its discretion, such contempt of its authority, and none other, as . . .” Then it lists the contempts that would open an individual to sanctions.
One is “misbehavior of any person” in the court’s “presence or so near thereto as to obstruct the administration of justice”; two is “misbehavior” of “any” of the court’s “officers” in “their official transactions”; and three is “disobedience or resistance” to the court’s “lawful writ, process, order, rule, decree, or command.” So it looks like Mr. Schumer is in jeopardy of contempt in all three categories, including, because he’s a lawyer, the second one involving court officers.

Censure is pointless. Like most of what Senators do, just grandstanding and circular jerkulation.
Chuckie should have just threatened to hire hit men to take out any misbehaving Justices that voted the wrong way. After all, Trump had said stuff, so logically Chuckie had a “reasonable” excuse to threaten murder. I mean...It’s all Trump’s fault for goodness sake.
Censure? What a joke. The Secret Service should have arrested and cuffed Schumer on the spot and thrown him in jail. Delay his hearing until after the November election.

Yup. Trump should ask Mark Levin to get involved in legal matters. Everyone else is a politically correct sissy.
I am not disturbed when someone criticizes the courts. It is a branch of government just like the other two, and the other two do not spare criticism of each other. The court therefore should not be sacrosanct.
However, criticism of the court, which Trump has justifiably done, is totally different from threatening justices on the court by name, which is what Schumer did.
Lindsay Graham is pathetic.
Chuck Schumer D-N.Y. threatened Justice Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. I believe his threat implied violence towards the Supreme Court Justices.
There has already been violence against Trump supporters, violence against the Republican baseball team resulting in severe injuries to Steve Scalise R-La., Antifa Violence against journalist Mr.Ngo, violence against students on college campuses by Democrats, etc. The perps are all supporters of Chuck Schumer. Is this the price the Justices will face from Chuck Schumer and his gang.
It seems that my Senator Lindsey Graham thinks Chuck Schumer’s words and actions are okey-donkey. I am Brooklyn born and would not ever consider threatening anyone, as Brooklyn born Chuck Schumer did.
