I dunno. But there is also the cost it incurs it when goes to the lab to be analyzed, lab costs are usually expensive.
In Europe, the cost is around 200 Euro ($260). Takes about four hours for results to come back. Public healthcare insurance has to cover it....but, the doctor has to see some symptoms and then has to ask where have you been traveling in the past two weeks. So you only get the test, if the doctor recommends it.
I might note this too....they don’t want you showing up at the doctor’s office or the emergency room. You are supposed to call and someone comes to the parking lot or front door to do the q-and-a, then the swab test if the doc recommends it.
Los Angeles mayor declared State of Emergency today. I think (just my opinion) it means they get federal money rather than there is an emergency.

All 3 are getting better and their symptoms abating.
This whole thing SUCKS but it’s not a death sentence for all or most.

coronavirus testing has been added by CMS to essential services that must be paid for by health insurance
a total 1.2 million test kits are available by the end of this week, and an additional 4 million kits will be available by the end of next week ... there is no shortage of test kits ...

it’s never a bad idea to take at least 2 gms of C if you can tolerate it (too much and you get the runs) ... 10,000 units of D from fish oil (no A though) is another really good thing to take ... magnesium taurate, CoQ10, MK-7, and 225mcg of iodine from concentrated, standardized seaweed extract are also good for maintaining health ...

Same here in the US. The restrictions on who can get the test were supposed to have been loosened, but I haven’t seen a great deal of evidence of that happening - probably because there are more suspect patients than there are test kits.
That is such a massive overreaction.
Why doesn’t he demand a statewide quarantine with the National Guard patrolling the streets while he is at it?
You won’t believe that I have 4 of them within arm’s reach that I always forget to take :)
I bought them all to help with pain from nerve damage but doctors told me that vitamins and supplements cannot heal nerves that have been damage for a decade and a half now.
Nor can the body heal them at this point.
I read up on scientists that are trying to TURN OFF the damaged nerves that send painful signals but that sounds like a tall order and not in our lifetime

Wish they would react to every flu case confirmed this way.The death toll from flu is far more concerning. Great overreaction because of governmental types.... fear and lack of knowledge.This is so hyped as to be ridiculous.
Meanwhile— China- who created this weaponized virus and used it to kill off a large Uyghur population (the ones they don’t have in forced labor camps) as an experiment, now blames the US for the creation of the virus and spreading it. Total false propaganda.
And our media is not covering... any of this. Only that it is Trump’s fault. The libs raised holy hell from the January quarantine and blocking entry of people.

Why— it is thru Canada and Trudeau not closing his entry points, which the chi-coms are praising. Canadian chinese transfer into the US. Canadians are beginning to react quite negatively to this stupid move.
The chinese have put out a book- millions of copies, in arabic, cantonese, hindi, farsi/Iranian... all over the world touting the EXCELLENT handling of the coronavirus, and condemning the US (which first detected the outbreak-— in China, before the idiot chi-coms knew it had gotten away from their labs.
When is our media going to recognize the chinese actions which intentionally spread this? Never— not as long as the chinese vested interest politicians (all democrats and a lot of rino whinos) want it covered up.
