Career politicians want to preserve their career. For many, if not most, if not almost all, this is their primary motivation. Not representing the people. Not preserving our Constitutional rights. Not empowering citizens. The focus is self-preservation and career perpetuation.
So they have an aversion to anything that upsets the status quo, or that introduces ‘strangers within their midsts’. They want to control government, and prevent our choices as citizens from changing THEIR lives.
