I’ve personally had tremendous luck, over the last few years, in that I am a compromised person, in that a flu or good cold represents a mortal threat to me. (COPD and CHF)
I have been taking an old drug, which has shown broad spectrum anti-viral activity against AIDS, Ebola, Marburg, Hep B and C, and coronaviruses MERS and SARS.
I have stopped three colds and one flu dead in their tracks with this drug. The problem is that it is an old drug, and has long-ago lost it’s patent, so repurposing it, is an expensive proposition in that a drug company which does spend the money for studies will not profit on it.
I have been a career scientist and did in-depth research on ways I could minimize my risks of colds and flus. This old drug, has had a marvelous safety profile, in that it has been given to millions of children and pregnant women and is considered in the most safe drug category. It is widely available, and it is prescribed as an anti-parasitical for cryptosporidia, c. difficile, etc. It can be found online and is relatively cheap, and I’d encourage everyone to do their own research:

And has been initially been found to be effective against 2019 NCoV: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41422-020-0282-0

I’d prefer remdesavir, in the event I get this virus, but it is not likely there will be enough to go around, in time, so I think this is the next best thing.
