McConnell slams Schumer on Senate floor for controversial remarks directed at Supreme Court justices

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., called out Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on the Senate floor Thursday morning for his controversial warning a day earlier that Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh would "pay the price" for decisions in abortion cases.

“There is nothing to call this except a threat,” McConnell said.

Schumer made the statement during an abortions rights rally hosted by the Center for Reproductive Rights as the court was hearing arguments in a case over an abortion-related Louisiana law.

Controversial? That would imply that there are two sides of the story.

No, what he stated was totally inappropriate, perhaps criminal. That statement made by a Republican would have resulted in the hounding of said individual until they resigned. And if POTUS had said that, he’d be run up for impeachment.

It’s become extremely clear to many of us, that the law simply doesn’t apply any longer to Liberals in this country, especially politicians. This is dangerous, and the last bastion of defense we have now.... is the 2nd Amendment. Heaven help us all if we have that taken from us. And they sure are trying.

It is hate speech.
..........
It is stupid hate speech. If any one else but the Minority Leader said it, they would be arrested.
.........
It was stupid because there are too many crazies on both sides, to say such things.
............
Schumer has made himself a target also.
.............
What makes Schumer think this would help his side?
.............
Stupid, stupid, stupid, from any angle.

Nothing will happen to Schmuckie. A day or two of whining from the Republican controlled senate and then this will all blow over by Monday.

Its all part of the circus act in lawless DC.

The American Bar Association said they were “deeply troubled” by Schumer’s remarks.

“Whatever one thinks about the merits of an issue before a court, there is no place for threats — whether real or allegorical,” the ABA said in a statement. “Personal attacks on judges by any elected officials, including the President, are simply inappropriate. Such comments challenge the reputation of the third, co-equal branch of our government; the independence of the judiciary; and the personal safety of judicial officers. They are never acceptable.”

I see they had to throw a dig in at Trump without even mentioning Schumer by name or position

What has the Republican senate ever done to hold them accountable? Nada. Nothing. Zero.

At a minimum the Senate needs to follow through with the censure. Although its unlikely. Democrats never face consequences.

Nothing will happen to Schmuckie.

Largely because it will be out of the "news cycle" in the mainstream media by 10:00 AM Eastern time. A small article or two in the newspapers that very few people read, a little bellyaching by "Faux" News and it's back to Coronavirus 24/7 by the 6 PM news.

The communist Democrats like Schumer are protected by the DOJ and the FBI which is still corrupt. Schumer will never be held account but celebrated as a hero.

When Schmucky Schumer named the two Justices, then said "YOU won't know what hit YOU", how can the "YOU" be misinterpreted by ANYONE to mean that Chucky was targeting all Senate Republicans?

If that is Chucky's position, and he has now TRIPLED-DOWN on his position from the Senate floor, this can be nothing less than a verbal version on the Representative Steve Scalise shooting at the baseball field.

Linda and Mitch should be moving on a censure at the very least right now.
Or is Linda fine with what “his good friend from NY” said?

Republicans COULD do something about it but we all know they won’t because they don’t believe in anything except their own re-election.

Unfortunately, you are correct. Republicans are all talk and no action. And any day now, Barr ( who we are told is beyond reproach) will lower the boom on FISA abuse, Clapper, Brennan, Struck, Page, Rosenstein etc. Yea right! When pigs fly!
