Yep, it was Mondale's home state. Reagan could have won MN with only a little bit of effort, but never campaigned there because he didn't want to embarrass Mondale. As it was, Mondale beat the Gipper by just 3,761 votes.

I think Trump has a great chance of winning MN in 2020. If so, it will be the first time since 1972 a Republican presidential candidate carried MN.
