I will try find hand sanitizer today to see. If I can not find any that means people in SC have been slowly preparing like me.
yeah, just peek at the bleach, lysol, face masks section, too just to get an idea- likely they are gonna be out of all those things-
Most places aren’t swarmed yet- at least in more rural areas- which is a good thing, because once they do get mobbed, it’s likely a couple of people at least will have the virus and be spreading it to others in the store- I think most people are buying up bulky foods like rice, beans, flour, etc so incase the flu hits, they don’t have to go to stores while flu is at it’s peak- to try to reduce exposure to sick folks- but they will still need insight like milk, creamers, etc- can’t really store that stuff long term-
So you may find some of those items slowly dispensary from shelves too- check out the canned food section too- see if the shelves are a bit empty- ours are- stuff like tuna fish, beans, soups etc shelves are getting sparse-
Here in Canberra (Australia’s capital) we’ve had 2 runs on the shops inside 3 months.
First was during the bushfires in January with P2/N95 masks (due to the crazy bad smoke levels) and water bottles and water storage containers (the local water supply was directly threatened with contamination caused by the fires).
Then in the last week or 2, the second run on P2/N95 masks, plus toilet paper, nitrite gloves, hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, and other sanitizer related items.
The local supermarkets ran out of hand sanitizer and toilet paper in half a day. Likewise the local Costco which normally has a literal truck load of toilet paper ran out in an afternoon.
Crazy.
