Well that a start.

Thats shocking. Belarus was so loyal to ussr/Russia. I travelled from Moscow to Warsaw by train in the 90s. Belarus used Russian gauge tracks. Poland did not. At the border, each train car got picked up off its Russian undercarriage and a western scale carriage was slid underneath. The difference was maintained because Russia never wanted Germany to easily roll up the railroad into Russia.
Guess the Belarus dude is one of last old school dictators.
Think this is his way of getting concessions from Russia
But no idea its a madness not sure if the build a nuke shelter or biohazard isolation ward
Originally, Lukashenko saw himself as the one to unite Russia and Belarus, with himself as leader of the reconstituted Soviet Union.
Then along comes Putin and he squashed those plans.

Russia was changing dramatically in the 90s. American tourists were raving about their visits.
Russian businesses were trying to set up in Bahrain and thru out the Gulf. Had drinks with a few in several countries.
Isn’t Belarus landlocked?
Sounds like we had some similar experiences in the 90’s.
Many LOC boundaries were like that. Some are still capable of the same today.
Where I come from, 28 British Marines is known as an afternoon tea party.
