Showing aerial footage on Weather Channel — looks bad.
We had similar straight line winds in our region about 12 years ago. Knocked down a huge oak on the access road to our subdivision. It was late spring and it literally took me 3 days to clean up the debris in the yard. Branches, limbs, twigs, leaves. A LOT of it carpeting the lawn. Would have killed the grass if I hadn’t gotten to is fairly quickly. I even had to get up on the roof and rake the tree pieces off.
Fortunately there was no damage to the house, but it was very frightening and hit and was done in about 5 minutes.
And very spotty. Some places were hit and others not, all in around a 40 Mile range. People at work half way didn’t believe me how bad it was until I showed pictures that I had taken (in case I had missed something and would have needed to make an insurance claim).
