You’re right. He would never be convicted of any crime. But that wouldn’t stop the cops from arresting him anyway. They could charge him with evicting a tenant without giving notice, breach of the peace, or some other such nonsense.
Like I said, he wouldn’t be convicted. But he sure would be inconvenienced.
