Vice President Pence says more than 15,000 coronavirus test kits were released over the weekend and more will be sent out. "This weekend, more than 15,000 testing kits have been released. Also the FDA has approved a testing regiment that state and local officials can be using. We're addressing it, we're leaning into it."

This is our biggest need right now. It isn’t enough yet, but at least he is letting people know that there are test kits becoming available and that it is a priority for the task force.
Yup, gotta get reliable mass testing down in the next few weeks.
Make 300 million test kits, send them out to government offices. Have everyone come in and get tested—bring proof of citizenship. Anyone not gets summarily deported. Removing 60+ million illegals will reduce stress on our medical community and services so they can focus on Americans.
The only thing - in the full interview - he said the “tests are in the mail”, Probably not the phrase I would use, heh.
The defective kits were recalled due to one of the ingredients being faulty.
Each kit could test 800 potential patients
The new and improved kits also can be read locally, rather than being mailed to one of three testing lab sites.
Thus you can get an almost immediate read.
So, I would say this is a vast improvement !

I suspect there will be an order of testing priorities classes for awhile, since there aren’t that many kits available now.
Why is Pence overreacting like this? Doesn’t he know how many die of the flu each year? /s
Don't worry about it. It's 5pm some where!
I think maybe you could guess from where the current batch is being shipping, where they think might be the biggest problem areas re:potential infections.
He obviously fell for the media hype.
15,000 x 80 = 1.2 Million tests. Not bad for a couple of weeks work - assuming that they actually fixed the reliability problems.
LOL
i read that CT scans were as effective per medical community. i haven’t heard that from CDC
Charlie Kirk has something for your liberal friends:
It took Barack Obama until October of 2009 to declare the H1N1 pandemic a National Health Emergency
It began in April of 09 but Obama waited until 20,000 people in the US had been hospitalized & over 1,000 had died
Yet the media was silent about his response then.
I think they are used as a diagnostic tool for this. Though I tBelieve they are on the expensive side - not sure how costly, tho. If good kits are to be had, I suspect they would be preferable - not just less cost, but easier to administer.
