Way back when in the 1980’s I belonged to a fishing club, but I did not have a boat. Just before sunrise I was waiting at a commuter parking lot for a buddy to pick me up for a bass tournament. A guy I didn’t know drives up in a nice car and asks me if I am looking for a friend. I said I was waiting for a buddy. He gives a sad puppy dog look and drives off. I was naïve back then. Took me a little while to figure it out.

Call me really naïve. I’ve stopped at rest areas hundreds of times and can honestly say I’ve never seen any of the deviant behavior in this article.

I fully believe it happens but maybe I’m just too single focused in doing my business and getting back on the road.

It does answer why so many rest areas in the Northeast close at 5pm though
